Question 5

What is kava?

Accepted Answer

Kava is a traditional South Pacific beverage made from the root of the kava plant. It has been enjoyed socially and ceremonially for generations and is commonly associated with relaxation, conversation, and a clear head.

Question 6

What are botanical drinks?

Accepted Answer

Botanical drinks are made with ingredients derived from plants, roots, herbs, and functional mushrooms. Different botanicals can have different effects, so our menu identifies the ingredients in each drink.

Question 7

What will I feel?

Accepted Answer

Botanical ingredients affect everyone differently. Some drinks are selected for relaxation, others for energy, focus, mood, or general wellness. Tell our team what type of experience you are looking for, and we can explain the options our menu brings together.

Question 8

What should I order on my first visit?

Let our team know it is your first time. We will explain the menu, answer your questions, and help you choose something based on the flavor and experience you want. Starting with a smaller serving is always a good approach when trying a new botanical.

Question 12

Is kava addictive, and does it cause liver damage?

Accepted Answer

Kava is generally not considered addictive or habit forming. Reports of liver injury have been rare and have largely involved concentrated extracts, poor-quality products, improper preparation, preexisting liver conditions, or other contributing factors. Kava prepared traditionally with water has a long history of social use. As with any botanical, quality, preparation, moderation, medications, and individual health all matter, so speak with a healthcare professional if you have concerns.

Question 13

Is there an age requirement?

Accepted Answer

Everyone is welcome in our space. Some products carry age requirements, so please ask our staff if you have questions about a specific drink or ingredient.

Question 14

Are botanical drinks safe for everyone?

Accepted Answer

Some botanical ingredients are not appropriate for everyone. Do not combine botanical products with alcohol or other substances that may cause similar effects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take prescription medication, have a medical condition, or have questions about possible interactions, speak with a healthcare professional before consuming botanical products.
